Houses lie flattened after two consecutive landslides hit Masara Village, Compostela Valley province, about 520 miles (840 kilometers) southern Philippines on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, leaving at least 11 people dead and 16 others missing. Several huts and small stone houses in the remote gold-mining village were destroyed Saturday by the tons of mud and rocks, killing six villagers and injuring 17 villagers.
